The human mind tends to categorize and tidy up issues in order to deal with them. The site specific installation, In the Uncertain Light of Single Certain Truth, was realized in 2017 for the Istanbul Off-Site Project of Sharjah Biennale, during a time when intellectuals were leaving Turkey frequently due to political pressure. The artist worked with cardboard boxes in order to deal with the feeling of heaviness that comes with this pressure. The tulle boxes held together by metal wire are transparent and light.
The moments of epiphany in life usually come through a change of paradigm. What if lightness is possible from just a different perspective, with bright pink seeds of the new bursting out?
